Movie Review: Captain America

Let's face it, movies and the required snacks necessary to enjoy the movies properly are expensive. So in an effort to save you all some hard earned money, let 'ol Al review the movie for you.

So, here we go. The first movie to be reviewed is...

Captain America : The Winter Soldier

We find our hero, Steve Rogers, having just awoken from the biggest bender he's ever experienced. For a super hero, he hasn't looked this bad in a while. He even threw up in the Captain America shield...that's gonna smell for a while.

So here Steve wanders about and tries to figure out what's going on now that his liver is on speaking terms again. Hey, there's his old pal Nick Fury. Well Nickie is all out of sorts and goes on and on about how enemies are out there and really are bad people. Steve just listens and tries to think of all the girls he is going to kiss as he is a super hero.

Suddenly some guy who looks like he's seen Frosty the Snowman one too many times drops by and murders the heck out of Nick. So now Steve decides not to trust anyone in SHIELD and the SHIELD crew decide that he's now a traitor. Oh well, so it goes.

Saddened by the sudden fact that his SHIELD-mates have ostracized him, Steve decides to run away. He flees to the North Pole where he meets up with Admiral America who tells Steve that he must soon take his place as Admiral. This makes Steve very excited and promptly murders the admiral. Pleased my his promotion, he steals the Starship Enterprise and travels to Coldass IV, a winter planet 8 light years from Earth.  He confronts Mr. Winter Soldier and told him how much of a meanie he was for killing Nick Fury. They both agree that each of them have anger issues and the movie ends just as you see the two of them holding hands in the office of a psychologist.

IMPRESSIONS:  Overall I liked this movie.  The director's choice to cast Gary Busey as Captain America and Shelley Long as his love interest was brilliant.  The special effects from the first ever actual working fake shark to the fully armed and operational Death Star was very well done. And the cliffhanger at the end to see if the winter soldier was actually the kin of Dumbledoor will definitely keep me anxiously awaiting the next film of the season.

RATING: 3 of  5
